What is a top site list?
A
top site list is a ranking system which evaluates related web sites on
the basis of some pre-defined criteria such as hits sent to the list,
site quality, user votes, etc... A top site list is both a traffic-exchange
mechanism and a dynamic information resource. As a
traffic-exchange mechanism, related sites are ranked by the number of
visitors it sends to the list ("votes"). The more votes a site
receives, the higher it is displayed in the list rankings and the more
traffic it receives in return. As an information resource, visitors are
able to find niche sites quickly and easily. As a result, a top site
list is a win-win proposition for the list owner, member sites and
Internet visitors.
